COUNTING AND NUMBERS
Counting with real things to count
On ME App number cards from 1 to 20, children count real objects: one apple, two ducks, three fish, all the way to twenty crayons. They tap each object as they count, and a recorded voice counts along.
One number, one object at a time
Tapping each object while saying its number builds one-to-one correspondence, the idea that each thing gets counted once. A small number badge appears on every object as it is counted.
Grouped the way teachers do it
Objects sit in rows of five, and numbers past ten show a group of ten and the rest. Children start to see “five and two more” without counting each one.
Grow from 10 to 50
Choose counting to 10, 20, or 50 in the grown-up settings. Number cards past 20 show the number and its name, and the counting games grow with your child.
Counting ideas for every day
- Count snacks, steps, or toys, touching each one.
- Ask, “Can you show me four?” and let your child tap four objects.
- Count backward from five before bedtime or bath time.
Questions parents ask
Which numbers show objects to count?
Numbers 1 to 20 each show their own object, such as 3 fish or 12 eggs. Numbers 21 to 50 show the number and its name.
Does the app count out loud?
Yes. Tap “Hear it” and a recorded voice counts every object, then says the total.
Are the printed ME Cards the same?
The printed counting cards use counting dots. The tap-to-count objects are in the free ME App.
