AUTISM AND THE SPECTRUM

Learning that meets your child where they are

Every autistic child is different. ME App and ME Cards give you simple tools you can shape around your child: their own photo and name on every card, the same calm routine on every card, and as much repetition as they want, with no ads, timers, or pressure.

A familiar face on every card

Each card shows your child’s own photo and name next to the letter, number, or shape. Seeing themselves can make a new card feel familiar. You can use a favorite photo, or choose a friendly icon instead.

The same routine, every time

Every card works the same way: the picture, the word, and a “Hear it” button. A recorded voice says the same words the same way each time, and your child can tap it as often as they like. Games are five questions long, with no timers and no losing. A wrong answer just hears “Good try. Take another look.”

Gentle on the senses

  • No ads, pop-ups, or flashing banners.
  • The read-aloud voice can be turned off at any time.
  • If your phone, tablet, or computer is set to reduce motion, the app turns off its animations.
  • Soft colors, with four card colors to choose from.

Go at your child’s pace

  • Start small: the Starter level uses fewer cards (A to H, 1 to 10, and six words).
  • Choose counting to 10, 20, or 50.
  • Turn activities on or off, so only the ones your child enjoys appear.
  • Count real objects by tapping them one at a time.
  • Hear each letter sound on its own, then the whole word, with Sound it out.

Learning away from the screen

ME Cards are printed paper cards with your child’s photo and name, 3 × 4.25 inches, to hold, sort, and carry. Use them at the table, as part of a routine, or wherever your child learns best.

In the classroom

Teachers, including in special education and inclusive preschool classrooms, can use Classroom mode to keep up to 30 learners on one device. Each child starts by tapping their own picture.

What ME App is, and is not

ME App and ME Cards are early learning tools for letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and first words. They are not a therapy, a treatment, or a diagnostic tool, and they do not replace speech, occupational, or behavioral therapy or early intervention services. If your child has a care or therapy team, they can help you decide how learning tools like these fit your child’s goals.

Questions parents ask

Is ME App made for autistic children?

ME App is made for all young children ages 1 to 6, including autistic children and children on the spectrum. Families can adjust it to fit their child: fewer cards, the voice on or off, and only the activities their child enjoys.

Is ME App a therapy?

No. ME App is an early learning tool, not a therapy or treatment, and it does not replace speech, occupational, or behavioral therapy or early intervention.

Does it have ads, timers, or sounds that cannot be turned off?

No. There are no ads and no timers, and the read-aloud voice can be turned off at any time.

Is my child’s photo private?

Yes. In the ME App, photos and progress stay on your device and are not sent to us.
